Dories on the Green River
in Desolation Canyon

Scotty rowing a dory in 3Fords rapid in Desolation Canyon on the Green River.

We always thought that we couldn’t do much to enhance an already wonderful trip like the Desolation Canyon five-day rafting trips that we schedule each year. This canyon  incised by the Green River is about as beautiful as any river canyon could possibly be. We have, however, found one method that adds tremendously to the overall trip, and that is the addition of three little wooden boats called dories!  These colorful craft provide seating for a total of 9-12 people and offer a ride through the early season whitewater that cannot be experienced in any other way. The dories float and bob like corks, riding high on the waves.  And we just have to say it – you can’t help but “feel superior” when you are riding in a Dory!

Please see Our Boats for additional watercraft descriptions.
