Choosing a trip
The main requirement for participating in one of our trips is being in good general health. For the multi-day trips, you should be comfortable with outdoor camping and living. Our trips take place in rugged and remote wilderness areas, and your overall trip safety and well-being will, in part, depend on your own good judgment and common sense.
The Green River in Desolation
Canyon is a great trip for families or first-time rafters. Children as young as six have successfully participated in this five day raft trip. The rapids are small to medium sized. White sandy beaches for camping are plentiful, and side canyon hikes are leisurely and fun. Inflatable Kayaks (funyaks) are available at no additional charge for the " Deso" trip.

Cataract
Canyon on the Colorado River in Canyonlands National Park can offer very intense whitewater, especially during the early part of the season in late May and early June. The river level (and whitewater intensity) generally drops beginning in mid June. Early season raft trips may not be appropriate for kids younger than 16. Later in the year, children as young as 12 may participate. Inflatable kayaks are available during the 6-day "Cat" trip. Hiking opportunities are numerous on the six-day trips, with somewhat fewer but still great hikes on the three-day run.

Grand Canyon trips
are more appropriate for adults and mid to older teens, especially
the oar powered runs. The fourteen-day oar trip is the ultimate
river experience for those who are prepared physically and are ready to camp,
raft and hike for two weeks. Those considering the 6-day "upper" or
the 9-day "lower" oar powered Grand Canyon trip must be sufficiently
fit for the required and strenuous ten-mile hike into or out of the Canyon
between the South Rim and Phantom Ranch.
Participants on our Grand Canyon oar powered trips have ranged in age from
12 to 80+. If you wonder about the "little" (18’ - 4 passenger)
oar powered rafts - or if you want to see the entire Canyon but 14 days is
too long for you, consider joining one of our 8-day motorized runs. The 35’ pontoon
rigs are powered by a leaves plenty of room to move around. The eight day motorized
trip offers many hiking opportunities.
Westwater Canyon on the Colorado River provides a great one-day introduction to rafting with absolutely stunning scenery, and very intense whitewater . Suggested minimum age is 12.
The Combination Trail Ride/Whitewater Rafting Trips that we run in conjunction with our friends and colleagues at Hondoo Rivers and Trails provide the two very best "transportation" options (horses and rafts) for experiencing our remarkable western landscapes, in Cataract Canyon on the Colorado River, Capital Reef, Escalante and Boulder Mountain.
Canoe Trips down the Green River through Labyrinth/Stillwater canyons offer a wonderful opportunity for a guided trip, you paddle you own canoe, we do the rest of the work at camp. Rental canoes including paddles and life jackets are also available for a self guided calm water adventure from the Green River State Park to Mineral Canyon.
One-Day rafting trips, an introduction to river running, can
be found on the Green River through Gray Canyon, a scenic
stretch with 4-6 small splashy rapids that provide fun
for the entire family, including younger children.
